Perennials
Perennials are plants that live for more than two years and are winter hardy depending on their zone. We stock an excellent selection of perennials - all home grown in our own nursery so you are purchasing hardened plants that will adapt easily to our hardiness zones and climate. Our perennials are available in sizes ranging from 3 1/2" to 5 1/2" square pots. Sometimes large 14" full-grown stock pots are available for certain varieties. Check out our outdoor perennial display garden for inspiration!
The Okanagan Valley is generally classed as a zone 5 (-23C to -29C) with some micro-climates in areas around the lakes being classed as a zone 6 (-18C to -23C). If you live in The Okanagan and are purchasing perennials, generally you want to be looking for varieties that are classed as a zone 5 or lower.
Our perennials are available in sizes ranging from 3 1/2" to 5 1/2" square pots. The smaller perennial pots are perfect for new beds, establishing large areas of ground cover or for rock garden slopes. To fill spaces in already established perennial beds you can plant in multiples or simply choose varieties that are available in 5 1/2" square pots. Most years we also have 10" to 14" perennial stock pots available for instant displays. While you are browsing, take some time to view our perennial display garden which showcases some great plant choices for Okanagan homeowners.
We have a wide range of alpines, heathers and succulents- perfect for the gardener who is looking to conserve water. The water wise plants, especially Lavendula (Lavender), Perovskia (Russian Sage), Salvia (Sage), Sedum (Stone crop) and Sempervivum (Hens and Chicks), help the environment and also your wallet, reducing your water bill.
Some of the more popular perennials we grow are:
- Hostas (Plantain Lily), Heucheras (Coral Bells), Hellebores (Lenten Rose), Hemerocallis (Daylily)

Nicely established 12" pots of various two year old perennials that we have used as Mother plants to propagate from, or have simply grown for observation are now displayed at the ends of the tables out in selling section D, E and F. Aubrietia, Creeping Phlox, Sedum are a few that are even starting to bloom, but we also have many taller growing perennials such as Centaurea (Bachelor Button), Garden Phlox, Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisy), and Eupatorium (Joe Pye Weed) just to name a few.
We have also opened up selling section B to allow you to browse through all the bareroot type perennials.
Please remember that our perennials have not been hardened off and should be grown in their pots outdoors, with protection on really cold nights.
