Typically a perennial herb plant, dianthus feature flowers that have frilled edges. The flowers usually come in pink, red, or white, and are quite fragrant.
Plant dianthus in the spring or fall, and ensure that their soil is well-drained, but with a good level of moisture. Deadhead the spent flowers to encourage more blooming.
