Annuals

Annuals are plants which are replanted each year. These plants do not survive the winter but offer fast growth and full colour and/or foliage all growing season.  Each year our greenhouse team makes sure you have thousands of the best and newest annuals to plant in your garden, window boxes, hanging baskets, pots and planters.  Each variety is placed on our retail floor under it's corresponding show plant, allowing you to see how it will develop and bloom in the upcoming months.

Here are a few examples of some of the annuals grown every year:

• Ivy, Zonal, Exotic and Interspecific Geraniums
• Trailing Petunias (for example- Purple Wave), Calibrachoas (commonly known as Million Bells)
• Fuchsias, New Guinea Impatiens, Begonias and Double Impatiens
• Marguerites, Osteospermum (African Daisy/ Cape Daisy), Dianthus, Pot Carnations, Pansies and Primulas
• thousands of basket stuffers including favourites like Bacopa, Sweet Potato Vine, Bidens, Diascia, Lantana, Lotus Vine, and trailing Verbena
• Bedding plants such as Petunias, Marigolds, Lobelia, Alyssum, Snapdragons, Salvia, Zinnias, Portulaca, Dusty Miller, Coleus and Impatiens.
• Centrepiece plants including Ensete maurelii (ornamental Red Banana), Alocasias/ Calocasias (Elephant Ears), Phormium (New Zealand Flax), Fountain Grass, Canna Lillies and Cordylines (Dracaena)
